Working on behalf of Haringey Council, We are seeking a committed Social Work Officer to join their Adults Social Care service, supporting residents and carers through assessment, review, and support planning. You will work within a strengths-based model, helping people build resilience, maximise independence, and improve their quality of life.
About the Role You will manage a non-complex caseload and work closely with social workers and partner agencies to deliver effective, outcome-focused support. This is a varied, community-facing role combining assessment, coordination, practical support, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.

Key responsibilities include:
- Completing strengths-based assessments, reviews, and support plans
- Supporting adults and carers to maximise independence and wellbeing
- Arranging short-term support and respite services
- Providing advice and guidance on welfare benefits and living aids
- Reviewing care packages and monitoring outcomes
- Working closely with health and social care partners
- Contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings
- Attending safeguarding strategy meetings where required
- Maintaining accurate case notes, records, and reports
- Supporting social workers with information gathering and case preparation
- Completing Continuing Healthcare (CHC) checklists where appropriate
You will ideally have:
- Experience or exposure in Adult Social Care (paid, voluntary, or lived experience)
- Understanding of strengths-based and person-centred practice
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults and/or carers
- Ability to contribute to assessments and support planning
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with multiple agencies or partners
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Awareness of safeguarding and equality principles
- Confidence using IT and case recording systems
- Health & Social Care qualification (Level 3–5 or equivalent)
- Experience in a local authority or community setting
- Experience contributing to care reviews or MDT work
- Knowledge of adult social care processes and ethics
- Enhanced DBS check required
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and safe practice is essential
