Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Medway Council for a qualified Social Worker to join their Adult Social Care service on a permanent basis.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive local authority environment, where reflective practice, safeguarding, and high professional standards are central to service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of adults and undertake assessments, care planning, reviews, and safeguarding work in line with statutory requirements
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve service plan objectives and performance targets
- Apply legislation including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks to inform decision making
- Participate in regular supervision, performance appraisal, and ongoing professional development, contributing to individual and team learning needs
- Use evidence based practice, critical reflection, and professional judgement when working with complex cases
- Maintain accurate and timely case recording in line with GDPR and data protection requirements
- Promote equality, diversity, and anti discriminatory practice in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 and Public Sector Equality Duty
- Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility; the post holder must act at all times to safeguard the health and wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults
- As a corporate parent, contribute to positive outcomes for Medway’s care experienced children and young people
- Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Council policies, and agreed safe working practices
- Keep up to date with GDPR responsibilities, including completing refresher training as required
- Degree in Social Work
- Completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
- Registration with Social Work England
- Knowledge of adult social care legislation, safeguarding procedures, and person centred practice
- Ability to work reflectively, manage complex information, and apply professional judgement effectively
