About the Role: Social Worker (Bcft Dfe)

As a Social Worker (Bcft Dfe), you will be responsible for supporting children and young people with disabilities and complex health needs. Working within a statutory framework, your role will involve working closely with families to promote positive outcomes, ensuring children’s best interests are at the heart of every decision. You will join a team that values restorative and relational-based practice, emphasizing respectful, supportive interventions tailored to individual needs.

This Social Worker (Bcft Dfe) position is offered on a contract basis with a pay rate between £38,220 and £46,142 per annum, plus a £3,000 retention payment. The role requires working three days per week in the office, based at Shipley Town Hall, Shipley.

Candidate Responsibilities for the Social Worker (Bcft Dfe):

  • Managing a caseload of children and young people with disabilities and complex health needs.
  • Employing restorative and relational practice methods to support families and children.
  • Conducting assessments and developing care plans in line with statutory requirements.
  • Attending multi-agency meetings and collaborating with partner agencies.
  • Providing expert advice and support to families to promote well-being and safeguarding.
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate case records.

Candidate Requirements for the Social Worker (Bcft Dfe):

  • Proven experience as a social worker, ideally in child health and disabilities.
  • Knowledge of statutory child protection and safeguarding processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
