About the Role: Social Worker (Bcft Dfe)

As a Social Worker (Bcft Dfe), you will be responsible for supporting children and families using a restorative and relational-based practice approach. Your expertise and commitment will ensure that children’s needs are met quickly and effectively, with a focus on achieving permanence from the point of referral. This role offers a chance to work in a busy, fast-paced environment where your skills in Public Proceedings, Pre-Proceedings, Child Protection, and Child in Need will be highly valued.

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Manage a busy workload supporting children and families within the South Locality.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored care plans.
  • Support decisions relating to Public Proceedings, Pre-Proceedings, Child Protection, and Child in Need.
  • Engage with children, families, and partner agencies to promote positive outcomes.
  • Work at pace, demonstrating a proactive approach to safeguarding and welfare.
  • Embrace restorative and relational-based practices to support children’s stability and permanency.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in accordance with policies and procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Social Worker (Bcft Dfe) within a local authority setting.
  • Knowledge of Public Proceedings, Pre-Proceedings, Child Protection, and Child in Need processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to child-centered practice, with a focus on achieving permanence.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
