Position: Social Worker (Bcft Dfe) – Contract
We are currently seeking motivated and experienced Social Workers (Bcft Dfe) to support children and families across the East Locality. This role offers an exciting opportunity for social work professionals with a proven track record in public proceedings, pre-proceedings, child protection, and child in need cases. As a vital member of our Duty and Assessment teams, you'll contribute to positive outcomes for vulnerable children and their families.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and investigations of children and families
- Support children in need through timely and effective interventions
- Manage cases involving Public Proceedings, Pre-Proceedings, Child Protection, and Child In Need
- Develop and implement safety plans and care assessments in line with statutory requirements
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes
- Maintain detailed and accurate case records
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and quality standards throughout casework
- Participate actively in team meetings and supervision sessions
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a social worker within child protection and family support settings
- Knowledge of public law proceedings and safeguarding procedures
- Ability to work effectively at pace under pressure
- A proactive, child-centered approach aligned with relational and restorative practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work) and registration with social work governing bodies
Benefits:
- Salary of £38,220 - £46,142 per annum, depending on experience
- Additional £3,000 retention payment
