Job Overview: Social Worker (Children's)
The Social Worker (Children's) will be responsible for assessing, supporting, and safeguarding vulnerable children and their families. You will work within a structured team, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures. This role involves engaging in kinship assessments, fostering arrangements, and providing ongoing support and supervision to foster carers and families.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's needs and family situations
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with families and external agencies
- Carry out kinship assessments and oversee fostering processes
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation in line with statutory requirements
- Provide support, guidance, and supervision to foster carers and families
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to promote the well-being of children
- Ensure all safeguarding protocols are followed rigorously
- Attend team meetings, case reviews, and court hearings as required
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in children’s social care
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Childrens’ Social Worker, with relevant fostering and kinship assessment expertise
- Prior experience with fostering support, supervision, and associated processes
- DBS check required: Enhanced – including barred for children
- Strong communication, assessment, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure within a team environment
- Valid social work qualification and registration with the relevant social work governing body
