Social Worker (Children's) – Contract Position
Are you a dedicated and experienced Social Worker looking for an impactful role within children’s services? We are currently seeking a qualified Social Worker (Children's) to join a dynamic team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families while working within a supportive and professional environment.
Position Overview:
As a Social Worker (Children's), you will be responsible for assessing referrals, developing care plans, and providing support to vulnerable children and their families. You will work closely with multi-agency teams to ensure the best outcomes for children in your case load. The role covers a maternity leave position extending until February 2027, with a 6-month initial contract, and offers an engaging environment for professionals committed to safeguarding.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of children and families to determine needs and risks
- Develop tailored care and support plans in collaboration with families and professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with statutory requirements
- Work in accordance with local authority safeguarding policies and procedures
- Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings and court proceedings
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to foster carers, young people, and families
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and organisational policies
- Engage in continuous professional development and supervise junior team members if applicable

Important Requirements:
- Fully qualified Social Worker with relevant registration
- Current DBS check – either Basic, Standard, or Enhanced (including barred list for children and adults)
- Proven experience working with children and families within a social services setting
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
