About the Role: Social Worker - Children's Services (Kinship Assessment Team)
As a Social Worker - Children's Services, your primary responsibility will be conducting comprehensive assessments of Kinship Carers and Foster Carers. You will play a vital role in ensuring children’s safety and well-being by evaluating carers’ suitability, providing expert advice on fostering legislation, and supporting decision-making processes to promote stable family placements.
Key Responsibilities of the Social Worker - Children's Services
- Conduct assessments of Kinship Carers and Foster Carers in line with fostering legislation and policies.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations to support child placement decisions.
- Engage with children, carers, and families to gather relevant information and provide ongoing support.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure compliance and best outcomes for children.
- Keep accurate case records and ensure all documentation aligns with statutory and organizational requirements.
- Attend legal proceedings and contribute to court reports as needed.
- Manage your caseload efficiently, prioritising urgent cases and adhering to deadlines.
- Stay updated on changes in fostering laws and policies relevant to the role of Social Worker - Children's Services.
Candidates for the Social Worker - Children's Services role must have:
- Proven experience in completing assessments of Kinship Carers and Foster Carers.
- Strong knowledge of fostering legislation and policy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A recognised social work qualification and full UK social work registration.
- Enhanced DBS check clearance.
