Adults Social Worker – Stroud Locality Team
📍 Redwood House, Beeches Green, Stroud
💰 £35 per hour £150 weekly accommodation/mileage allowance
📅 Initial 3-month contract (potential for extension)
We are currently recruiting for an Experienced Adults Social Worker to join the Stroud Locality Team based at Redwood House in Stroud. This is an initial 3-month contract with strong potential for extension.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive team environment within Adult Social Care, helping individuals across Gloucestershire maintain independence, regain control during crisis situations, and connect with community resources that support their chosen way of life.
Our teams work using the Three Conversations model, which focuses on understanding what truly matters to people, building on their strengths, and working with the networks and communities around them.
Key Responsibilities

• Work with adults and families to promote independence and wellbeing.
• Support individuals during times of crisis to help them regain control of their lives.
• Apply the Three Conversations approach to social work practice.
• Work collaboratively in a multi-agency environment, including involvement with court processes where required.
• Manage a caseload while ensuring positive outcomes for service users.

Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

• Registration with Social Work England (SWE)
• Completed ASYE year or minimum 2 years’ UK local authority social work experience
• Experience within Adult Social Care
• Knowledge of legislation, models and theories relevant to Adult Social Work
• Experience working in multi-agency environments (including court work where applicable)
• A full, clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments may apply under the Equality Act)

What We Offer

• £35 per hour
• £150 weekly accommodation / mileage allowance (T&Cs apply)
• Capped caseloads at 25
• Guaranteed minimum 3-month placement (subject to renewal)
• Agile / hybrid working

Working pattern:

• First 2 weeks in the office for a full induction
• Thereafter minimum 3 days per week in the Stroud office for visits, meetings and supervision
• Days can be fixed for consistency (ideally including Thursdays, subject to review)
