Social Worker - Grade 9 (Children's and Families) – Contract (3 months)

Are you a dedicated and experienced Social Worker looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable children and families? We are seeking a highly motivated Social Worker - Grade 9 (Children's and Families) to join our Children with Disabilities Team on a 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive environment and contribute to essential statutory services across Cheshire West.

About the Role: Social Worker - Grade 9 (Children's and Families)

As a Social Worker - Grade 9 (Children's and Families), your primary responsibility will be to provide vital social work support to disabled young people within the Cheshire West borough. You will work closely with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams to develop tailored care plans, ensure statutory compliance, and promote the well-being and safety of children with disabilities.

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's needs, especially those with disabilities, and develop personalized intervention plans.
  • Safeguard vulnerable children by identifying risks and implementing appropriate safeguarding procedures.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, and external agencies to facilitate positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed case records in compliance with local authority policies.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and training sessions.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with all stakeholders involved in each case.
  • Provide advice, support, and guidance to families and young people, fostering independence and resilience.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (e.g., HCPC registered).
  • Previous experience working within children's services, especially with children with disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures, legislation, and statutory duties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work across different office locations: Chester, Ellesmere Port, and Winsford.
