We are currently seeking a dedicated Social Worker - Grade 9 (Children’s and Families) to join our Children in Care Team based in Ellesmere Port on a 3-month contract. Job Overview – Social Worker - Grade 9 (Children’s and Families)

The Social Worker - Grade 9 (Children’s and Families) will be responsible for providing statutory social work services to children in care aged 0-18. You will work within the Children in Care team, collaborating with colleagues and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.

Candidate Responsibilities – Social Worker - Grade 9 (Children’s and Families)

As a Social Worker - Grade 9 (Children’s and Families), your duties will include:

  • Conducting detailed assessments of children and families to determine needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in conjunction with other professionals and families.
  • Providing advocacy and support to children in care, ensuring their rights and needs are prioritized.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed case records, in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Attending and contributing to team meetings, reviews, and court proceedings as required.
  • Working effectively in a team environment to uphold high standards of care and safety.
  • Staying current with legislation and best practice guidelines relevant to children in care.

Candidate Requirements – Social Worker - Grade 9 (Children’s and Families)

  • Proven experience working within Children in Care teams.
  • Full UK Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
  • Strong understanding of child protection, care proceedings, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
