Job Title: Social Worker / Senior Practitioner (Children’s) – Contract

We are currently seeking motivated Social Worker / Senior Practitioner (Children’s) for a contract position with our trusted client. Position Overview:
The Social Worker / Senior Practitioner (Children’s) will play a vital role within the children’s services team, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children in need. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing cases, conducting assessments, and working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams. The role offers competitive pay rates aligned with the union’s Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and provides opportunities for professional growth and development.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments regarding child safeguarding, wellbeing, and risk
- Develop and implement tailored intervention plans
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Work proactively with families, schools, and external agencies
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, including assistant practitioners and less experienced social workers
- Contribute to team meetings, case reviews, and practice development initiatives
- Cover ongoing workload requirements, including sickness or vacancy cover as needed
Salary / Pay Rate:
- Social Worker / Band 1 (ASYE + 2 years’ experience): £28.55/hour
- Senior Social Worker / Band 2 (ASYE + 3 years’ experience): £30.57/hour
- Advanced/Senior Practitioner/Assistant Team Manager: £33.30/hour
Pay rates are subject to the current MOU guidelines.

Candidate Qualifications:
- Registered with Social Work England or equivalent body
- At least 2–3 years’ local authority experience in children’s safeguarding
- Strong assessment, communication, and team collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
