Are you a passionate and experienced Social Worker looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with disabilities? We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker / Senior Practitioner (Children's) to join our children’s services team based in Burton upon Trent. This is a contract position offering an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive environment, collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality, child-centred services.
About the Role: Social Worker / Senior Practitioner (Children's)
As a Social Worker / Senior Practitioner (Children's), you will play a pivotal role supporting children with disabilities and their families across the East Staffs and Tamworth districts. Working within a multi-agency framework, you will undertake statutory duties and provide practical, emotional, and advocacy support to promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities of the Social Worker / Senior Practitioner (Children's):
- Undertake statutory social work duties following current legislation and local authority guidelines
- Complete Child Protection (CP) and Child in Need (CIN) plans
- Conduct thorough social work assessments and statutory visits to children and families
- Lead and participate in Team Around the Child (TAC) meetings and multi-agency meetings
- Work collaboratively with external agencies to coordinate and deliver support services
- Provide emotional and practical support to families of children with disabilities, ensuring safeguarding and well-being at the forefront
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with registration from Social Work England or equivalent
- Proven experience working with children and families, particularly within disability services (preferred)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection procedures, and statutory processes
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-agency team
- Available to start immediately (desirable)
