Social Worker - Standard (Children)

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, young people, and families? We are currently seeking two experienced Social Worker - Standard (Children) to join our established and supportive teams within North East Derbyshire and Bolsover District. These are full-time, permanent positions based in our Children’s Social Care services, offering a rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality social work practice.

About the Role: Social Worker - Standard (Children)
As a Social Worker - Standard (Children), you will be responsible for providing essential social work services that safeguard and promote the wellbeing of children and young people. You will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop supportive care plans, and work collaboratively with multi-agency teams to achieve positive outcomes. Your role will be central to safeguarding activities, ensuring legal compliance, and advocating for vulnerable service users.

Candidate Responsibilities for the Social Worker - Standard (Children):

  • Conduct thorough assessments of needs, risks, and protective factors
  • Develop outcome-focused care and support plans in partnership with families and professionals
  • Respond promptly to safeguarding concerns in line with legislation and policy
  • Participate in strategy meetings, case conferences, and multi-agency forums
  • Build strong professional relationships with service users and their families
  • Support and challenge families while promoting resilience and independence
  • Manage a caseload and review plans to meet service needs and outcomes
  • Prepare reports for court proceedings, reviews, and legal hearings
  • Maintain compliance with Social Work England standards and statutory guidance
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work (BA, MA, DipSW, or equivalent)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Experience in children’s social work is essential
  • Strong assessment, communication, and record-keeping skills
