Children's Social Worker Team Manager – Grade 12 Rate: £43 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Full Time
Working Pattern: Hybrid (flexibility required, including occasional out-of-hours work, travel, and emergency rota participation)
Are you an experienced Social Work professional ready to lead and inspire? We are looking for a dedicated Social Worker Team Manager to provide strong operational leadership and drive high-quality services for children, young people, and families. About the Role As Team Manager, you will ensure that children and young people remain at the heart of all practice, delivering a responsive, safe, and effective service aligned with Our Way of Working.

You will lead a team of social workers, promoting a positive and high-performing culture while ensuring statutory responsibilities are met and risk is effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership to deliver a stable, high-quality service
- Ensure effective risk management, safeguarding, and statutory compliance
- Lead on case oversight, decision-making, and escalation processes
- Manage and develop staff through:
- Recruitment & induction
- Supervision & appraisal
- Performance management
- Foster a reflective, learning-focused culture through supervision and team development
- Oversee service performance and quality assurance, using data, audits, and feedback to drive improvement
- Build strong multi-agency partnerships to improve outcomes for children and families
- Contribute to strategic planning, service development, and reporting
- Manage resources in line with financial and organisational guidelines
- Support workforce and practice development alongside the Principal Social Worker and relevant service hubs
- A qualified Social Worker (registered with Social Work England)
- An experienced leader with a strong background in children’s services
- Skilled in managing complex risk and safeguarding cases
- Passionate about trauma-informed and relationship-based practice
- Confident in leading teams, developing staff, and driving performance
- Able to build strong partnerships across multi-agency settings
- Competitive rate of £43 per hour
