Assistant Solicitor – Public Inquiry (Contract)
Service Care Solutions is excited to support a high-profile public inquiry by recruiting an Assistant Solicitor for a 2-week contract with the possibility of extension up to 23 months. This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified solicitor with strong analytical, organisational, and legal skills to contribute significantly to preserving a vital public record. Position: Assistant Solicitor – Public Inquiry
Location: Hybrid working (on-site and remote)
Duration: 2 weeks (initial contract) with potential extension to 23 months
Salary: £62,111 – £77,439
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on the retention and preservation of Inquiry documents and evidence
- Review materials for Data Protection, Freedom of Information, and Copyright compliance
- Collaborate closely with evidence management teams to ensure records are managed securely and efficiently
- Liaise with the National Records of Scotland to coordinate documentation and archiving
- Maintain document trackers and report progress regularly to senior stakeholders
- Ensure legal compliance throughout all stages of evidence management and record-keeping
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 1-year PQE
- Experience handling large volumes of documents or evidence
- Strong legal drafting and advisory skills
- Excellent attention to detail and communication capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Excel
- Experience with Public Inquiry processes or related legal frameworks (desirable)
