Children’s Speech and Language Therapist – NHS Community Team (Band 5/6)
📍 Based in Luton
📅 Start Date: ASAP
⏳ Contract Length: 6 Months
🕒 Working Pattern: Monday – Friday (Flexible Hours Available)
🔒 DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS
💷 Banding: Band 5 or Band 6 depending on experience (pay rate aligned to banding)
An excellent opportunity has become available for a Children’s Speech and Language Therapist to join a supportive NHS Children’s Community Team based in Luton on a 6-month contract.
The successful candidate will independently manage and take day-to-day responsibility for a caseload of children and young people within the community clinic team, covering both pre-school and school-age caseloads.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver therapy for a varied caseload of children and young people
- Assess, plan, implement and review speech, language and communication interventions
- Work collaboratively within the community clinic team across pre-school and school-age services
- Provide training, advice and support to parents, carers, schools and other professionals
- Enable families and professionals to support children’s speech, language and communication needs effectively
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with NHS standards
- HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist
- Experience working within paediatric/community settings
- Ability to independently manage a caseload
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills
- Enhanced DBS required
- Flexible working hours
