Street Scene Supervisor – Contract (2 weeks)

Are you an experienced leader in street operations seeking an immediate temporary opportunity? Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting a Street Scene Supervisor for a vibrant local authority team based in our client. This role offers a fantastic chance to oversee frontline Street Scene services, ensuring operations are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Job Overview

As a Street Scene Supervisor, you will oversee multidisciplinary operational teams across various services, including cleansing, grounds maintenance, and environmental operations. Working across two depots in Northbridge and Cantley, with travel throughout our client, you'll provide hands-on leadership to ensure daily tasks meet service expectations. This is a 37-hour per week position with flexible shift patterns (Monday to Friday).

Candidate Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support frontline operational teams across Street Scene services.
  • Coordinate daily work programmes to meet operational targets and standards.
  • Manage staff, including approving leave, sickness absence, and supporting performance reviews.
  • Work closely with Operations Management and HR to resolve staffing or operational issues.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Maintain safe, operational depots, vehicles, plant, and equipment.
  • Record operational data accurately using relevant IT systems.
  • Build positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Identify areas to improve efficiency, productivity, and service delivery.
  • Provide specialist advice on Street Scene operational activities.
  • Participate in emergency response and standby duties where needed.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous supervisory or management experience within operational frontline teams.
  • Background in Street Scene, Cleansing, Grounds Maintenance, or Environmental Services.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate workloads and resolve operational issues swiftly.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • IT proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential) with the ability to travel across our client.
  • Level 3 supervisory qualification preferred; Level 5 leadership/management qualifications encouraged.
