Substance Misuse Nurse – Birmingham Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join one of our clients in Birmingham.

- Pay Rate: £30 Ltd per hour
- Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Contract Type: Temporary (approximately 2 months) with the potential for extension
- Start Date: Immediate
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake physical and mental health assessments and ensure appropriate referrals to primary or secondary healthcare services.
- Complete alcohol assessments in line with CGL Alcohol Policy to determine safe detoxification requirements.
- Assist in opioid titration to achieve optimal OST dosing, liaising with team members and community pharmacists.
- Provide education, health promotion, and screening for blood-borne viruses (BBVs), including Hepatitis A/B vaccinations.
- Work within integrated care pathways for individuals infected with BBVs (Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV).
- Undertake community alcohol and opioid detoxification at the service or in the service user’s home.
- Perform phlebotomy, interpret blood results, and use findings to guide treatment decisions and referrals.
- Refer for specialist inpatient services when required and liaise with hospital teams.
- NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
