Overview We are recruiting for a Permanent Support Worker to join a brand-new, bespoke support team for an individual who will soon be moving into their own home in the Heysham (LA3) area.

This role offers a structured introduction, beginning with paid training and shadow shifts in LA2, before transitioning to the new home in LA3.

About the Role The individual you will be supporting enjoys:

A driver is essential, as community activities are a key part of the role.

You will work as part of a small, well-matched team delivering person?centred support based on communication needs, preferences, routines, and long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting daily routines at home and in the community
  • Taking part in walking, swimming, horse riding, shopping and other activities
  • Providing personal care sensitively and professionally
  • Promoting independence (budgeting, self?care, decision-making)
  • Supporting communication, including use of an iPad
  • Managing behaviours of concern where necessary
  • Ensuring safety, wellbeing and advocacy at all times
Essential Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience supporting people with autism and/or learning disabilities
  • Comfortable providing personal care
  • Physically able to walk long distances in various weather conditions
  • No allergies to horses
  • Non-smoker (essential)
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Patient, resilient, reliable, organised
  • Personal qualities: kind, empathetic, energetic, bubbly, and boundary?aware
Safeguarding & Compliance Successful applicants will be required to complete:
