Responsibilities of the Team Leader – LAC
As a Team Leader – LAC, your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a pod of four social workers dedicated to children seeking safety and asylum.
- Providing leadership, support, and supervision to ensure best practices are followed at all times.
- Coordinating the assessment, planning, and delivery of care for children in your team.
- Supporting social workers in complex cases relating to children seeking safety and asylum.
- Contributing to team meetings and fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Assisting in managing the wider children we care for team when needed, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and policies.
- Developing your team members’ skills through ongoing coaching and professional development.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal Team Leader – LAC will have:
- Proven experience in children's social care, ideally with a focus on children seeking safety or asylum.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies regarding children in care.
- Ability to handle complex and sensitive cases with empathy and professionalism.
- Relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work or equivalent).
- Registered with the HCPC or equivalent regulatory body.
