Join Our Team as a Team Manager (Children’s) – Band 12 (Contract)

Are you an experienced children’s social care professional looking to make a meaningful difference? We are seeking a dedicated Team Manager (Children’s) to lead our Care Experienced Young People’s Team. This is an excellent opportunity to influence young lives positively while working within a supportive and dynamic environment. The position is offered on a contract basis with an attractive pay rate of £45.92 per hour (including Hpil £1.58).

About the Role: Team Manager (Children’s) – Band 12

As the Team Manager (Children’s), you will oversee a team supporting young people aged 16-21 as they transition to independence. Your leadership will ensure young people receive tailored support in education, employment, housing, health, and financial stability. The team helps prepare young people for life beyond care, providing essential guidance until they reach 21 or longer, if needed. This role is ideally suited for a candidate with local knowledge and the ability to drive change in children’s social care.

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Children’s Care Experienced Young People’s Team.
  • Provide strategic direction and support for young people preparing for independence.
  • Oversee case planning, ensuring all young people’s needs are met in areas such as education, employment, housing, health, and finances.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies.
  • Support team members through supervision, coaching, and professional development.
  • Liaise with external agencies, stakeholders, and families to promote positive outcomes.
  • Manage workload distribution and ensure high standards of case management.
  • Promote a child-centred approach, safeguarding, and welfare.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in children’s social care, particularly with care-experienced young people.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Car driver with access to own vehicle (essential).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
