About the Role: Team Manager (Children's) G12
As the Team Manager (Children's) G12, you will be responsible for overseeing a small team of social workers providing critical support to children in care. Your leadership will be vital in guiding staff through complex cases, managing crisis response duties, and ensuring that best practices are maintained to safeguard vulnerable children. This role combines operational management with hands-on crisis support, making it both challenging and rewarding.
Candidate Responsibilities for the Team Manager (Children's) G12
- Oversee a team of social workers supporting children in care
- Support two duty workers in responding to crises in a timely and effective manner
- Supervise, mentor, and support staff to maintain high professional standards
- Chair strategy meetings to plan and review casework and service delivery
- Support fellow team managers through collaborative working and shared objectives
- Lead on operational tasks including case management and performance monitoring
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and safeguarding procedures
- Be present and visible within the office at least three days a week to lead and support your team effectively
Candidate Requirements for the Team Manager (Children's) G12
- Experience in managing teams within children’s social care
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to respond effectively to crisis situations
- Strategic thinking and performance management experience
- Valid clearance and registration with relevant social work regulatory bodies
