Are you a passionate leader with experience in social work and a drive to make a real difference in children’s lives? We are seeking a highly motivated Team Manager - Children's Services to join Lancashire County Council on a temporary contract within our Central Duty and Assessment teams. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a dedicated team of social workers responding to children and families in need of help and protection.

About the Role

As a Team Manager - Children's Services, you will oversee a team responsible for safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people. You will be vital in guiding and inspiring your team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that exceed expectations.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing a team of social workers in a dynamic environment
  • Driving continuous improvement through data analysis and service reviews
  • Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with internal teams, stakeholders, and communities
  • Promoting a strength-based, family-centered approach to child protection
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and safeguarding policies
  • Fostering a positive, inclusive work environment that encourages professional growth and excellence
Candidate Responsibilities

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience managing children’s social work teams
  • Passionate about safeguarding and families’ wellbeing
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement
  • Relevant social work qualification and registration
