Are you an experienced Technical Manager looking for an exciting contract opportunity? We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to join a reputable residential housebuilder project based at County Hall in Northallerton. This is a fantastic chance to apply your technical expertise within a dynamic environment, managing projects across North Yorkshire. The contract is initially for 2 weeks, with the possibility of extension up to 6 months, making this an ideal short-term opportunity for seasoned professionals.

About the Role – Technical Manager

The Technical Manager will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of residential development projects, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and quality standards. This role is primarily office-based but may involve visits to development sites across North Yorkshire.

Candidate Responsibilities – Technical Manager

  • Manage multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants effectively
  • Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
  • Ensure projects adhere to UK Building Regulations and planning legislation
  • Oversee statutory approvals such as highways, drainage, and utilities
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to streamline project workflows
  • Manage technical budgets and identify value engineering opportunities
  • Monitor and mitigate technical risks throughout project lifecycles
  • Maintain high standards of quality assurance and compliance
  • Travel to various sites as necessary to support development activities

Candidate Requirements – Technical Manager

  • Proven experience as a Technical Manager or in a senior technical role within UK residential housebuilding
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and technical design processes
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to sites
  • Demonstrable leadership and team management abilities
  • Degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, Architecture, or related fields (desirable)
  • Membership of a professional body such as CIOB, ICE, RICS, or CABE (desirable)
  • Experience with utility agreements such as Section 38, 104, 278 (desirable)
