We are seeking a highly motivated Youth Justice Officer - Grade E to join a dynamic multi-disciplinary Youth Offending Team. About the Role: Youth Justice Officer - Grade E
As a Youth Justice Officer - Grade E, your key responsibilities will include managing a caseload of young people subject to youth justice interventions and sentences. You'll work closely with families and guardians, applying systemic and evidence-based approaches to intervention. Your role will involve collaboration with partner agencies, liaising within a multi-agency framework, and working within legislative guidelines such as the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.
Candidate Responsibilities as a Youth Justice Officer - Grade E:
- Manage a dedicated caseload of young people on statutory court orders or out-of-court diversions
- Supervise and support young people aged 10-17 within the scope of National Standards, local policies, and relevant legislation
- Work collaboratively with families, guardians, and partner agencies to promote positive outcomes
- Prepare pre-sentence reports, supervise intervention plans, and work with young people in court settings and within out-of-court disposals
- Conduct out-of-court assessments and supervise the implementation of intervention strategies
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with Data Protection regulations and RBKC information exchange protocols
- Keep up-to-date with sector research on trauma-informed approaches, systemic practices, and relevant legislation
Candidate Requirements:
- Experienced professional with youth justice or social work background (e.g., Social Worker, Probation Officer)
- Knowledge of criminal, youth justice, and childcare legislation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within multi-agency teams
- Enhanced DBS check and Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclosure required
