Job Description
A Local Authority based in Surrey is currently looking for a temporary Accountant (Section 106 Accounting) to join the team on an initial 3 months contract. The post holder will Provide profession accountancy services to support delivery of Management & Commercial Accounting services.
They will analyse historic and current Section 106 accounting and Agreement records to confirm source and purpose of funds, historic use of funds and balance of funds available for future use. They will complete reconciliation of Section 106 Agreement and accounting records, make recommendations on how to address any immediate issues identified and implement agreed actions and make recommendations on improvements in the ongoing approach to accounting, controls and reporting and implement agreed actions.
Ideal Candidate
- Extensive experience of accounting for section 106 funds in district/borough councils
- CCAB qualified
- Relevant local government accounting experience
- Ability to extract accounting data and analyse using appropriate tools
- Speed and accuracy in all aspects of work
- Ability to communicate work completed and outcomes clearly
