We are currently recruiting for an Aftercare Worker within our Children’s Services team, supporting young people aged 16+ in line with the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and the Children Act 1989.
? About the Role As an Aftercare Worker, you will:
- Support Care Leavers and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children with pathway planning and transitions.
- Maintain regular contact, offering practical support and guidance.
- Work alongside multi-agency teams to coordinate services, advocate for young people, and ensure their voices are heard.
- Contribute to a duty rota, manage a diverse caseload, and produce high-quality professional reports and documentation.
- Experience working with young people aged 14+, especially those with complex needs.
- Strong knowledge of the Children Leaving Care Act 2000, safeguarding procedures, and welfare services.
- Excellent communication, time management, and IT skills.
- A valid UK driving licence or ability to make suitable travel arrangements within Salford.
- Comprehensive learning and development through online platforms, apprenticeships, and formal qualifications.
- Digital skills support and opportunities to become a Digital Eagle, helping others gain confidence with technology.
