Job Opportunity: Higher Business Services Administrator – Children’s Social Care
Location: Oldham Council
Working Pattern: Full-time | Hybrid/Flexible working may be considered
Contract Type: Temporary/Ongoing (via agency)

Are you a highly organised administrator with strong attention to detail and proven experience in minute taking? We’re currently recruiting for a Higher Business Services Administrator to support Oldham Council’s Children’s Social Care teams.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality business support across the service – supporting multi-agency panels, managing information systems, and ensuring the accurate and timely production of documentation and minutes for critical meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately take and produce formal minutes for complex, multi-agency meetings.

  • Organise meetings including booking venues, preparing agendas, and coordinating documents.

  • Support senior managers with diary management, correspondence, and admin tasks.

  • Maintain, update, and manipulate data across multiple systems and databases.

  • Process financial transactions in line with council procedures.

  • Deliver excellent internal and external customer service with a professional approach.

Essential Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in minute taking, especially in a formal setting.

  • Strong administrative background with excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office, databases, etc.).

  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.

  • Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.

  • Understanding of safeguarding and data protection in a children’s services setting.
