About the Role:
We’re currently looking for a skilled Carpenter / Multi-Trade Operative to join the Housing Property Services team in Islington. You'll carry out responsive and planned maintenance, void refurbishments, and capital repair work across tenanted and empty homes. This is a mobile role involving a wide range of carpentry and related multi-trade duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out high-quality carpentry repairs in occupied and void properties
- Use handheld PDA devices to log work and materials
- Support apprentices and follow safe working practices
- Communicate effectively with residents, supervisors, and the planning team
- Ensure vehicle and tools are maintained and stocked appropriately
- NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry or equivalent experience
- Experience using portable power tools in domestic settings
- Willingness to upskill in other trades
- Strong knowledge of H&S, including asbestos awareness
- Full UK driving licence (company vehicle provided)
- Basic DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Company van and fuel card
- Ongoing long-term work with a reputable local authority
