🔍 Role: Children & Young People IDVA
📍 Location: Co-located across Brent – including Brent Social Care and Client Head Office (Hybrid – up to 2 days WFH)
🕒 Hours: 35 hours per week
💷 Pay: £18-19 p/h ltd
📆 Contract: 3-month fixed term, with potential to extend on a rolling basis
👤 Experience Level: Very experienced – strong track record working with children and young people affected by domestic abuse (as victims and witnesses), safeguarding expertise, and confident crisis management

Our client is a respected, award-winning, women-only organisation established in 1998. They deliver specialist emotional and practical support to women and girls impacted by domestic abuse and those involved with the criminal justice system. Their mission is to empower women and girls to live safe, equal, and fulfilling lives through trauma-informed, community-based services and strong multi-agency partnerships.

🔸 The Role:
As a Children & Young People Worker, you’ll be based in Brent and deliver impactful one-to-one and group work sessions for children aged 5–18 who are living with or affected by domestic abuse. You'll provide specialist support and advocacy, improve referral pathways, and ensure children and young people receive the right care and intervention at the right time.
You’ll be experienced in working directly with children in both one-to-one and group settings, skilled in handling sensitive information, and capable of managing complex safeguarding risks. The ability to remain calm and solution-focused in crisis situations is essential.

🔸 About You: To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
  • Proven experience supporting children and young people impacted by domestic abuse
  • A deep understanding of their emotional and practical support needs, including around education, relationships, and confidence-building
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and risk assessment skills
  • Experience working within social care or similar settings, and the ability to manage professional boundaries and maintain trust
  • The confidence to work in multi-agency environments and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and advocacy skills
