? Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home
? Location: Preston
? Salary: £15.00 – £16.00 per hour
?? Sleep-ins: 5 per month (paid at £60 per sleep-in)
? Hours: 150–160 hours per month
? Shift Pattern: 2 on, 4 off
? Qualification: NVQ Level 4 or above in Children & Young People

Are you an experienced and passionate care professional looking to step into a leadership role in a nurturing and supportive children’s residential setting?

We are currently seeking a Deputy Manager to join a well-established children’s home in Preston, supporting children and young people with complex needs and helping them to thrive in a safe, homely environment.

? Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home.

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of residential support workers.

  • Ensure the highest standards of care and safeguarding are maintained at all times.

  • Build strong, positive relationships with young people, staff, families, and external professionals.

  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and behavioural strategies.

  • Support Ofsted requirements and help maintain or improve the home’s rating.

? Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 4 or higher in Children & Young People (or equivalent).

  • Proven experience working in a residential children’s home, ideally in a supervisory or senior role.

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and children’s legislation.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

  • Passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
