Staffordshire Council are seeking an experienced Children's Residential Support Worker to join their team in Stafford. Supporting young people in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, you can enable them to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.
*Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who are happy to work 2-3 10 hour waking night shifts a week (21:00-07:00) and have had a minimum of 6 months experience.* This will be a part time, temporary position initially for 3 months, with the potential of this becoming a permanent opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and practical support to children and young people in a residential setting.
- Promote a positive and caring environment, ensuring the well-being and safety of residents.
- Encourage and engage in educational, recreational, and therapeutic activities.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create individualised care plans.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to the overall assessment of residents' progress.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a residential setting.
- Must have previous experience working with children/young adults
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
