Location: NHS Trust – Dorset
Contract Type: Full-Time, Agency Contract (40 hours per week)
Pay Rates:
- £21.50/hour Umbrella
- £17.40/hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately code inpatient and day case episodes using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications
- Abstract relevant clinical information from patient records
- Ensure coding is completed within agreed timescales and meets national standards
- Liaise with clinical staff to clarify diagnoses and procedures where necessary
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding rules and NHS data standards
- Contribute to data quality audits and improvement initiatives
- Work independently and as part of a wider coding team
- ACC accreditation (active and in good standing)
- Proven experience in clinical coding within an NHS setting
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and OPCS-4 coding systems
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage workload effectively
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Familiarity with NHS data standards and information governance
- Experience with clinical coding software systems (e.g., 3M, Medicode)
- Knowledge of SUS data submissions and Payment by Results (PbR)
- Previous experience working remotely or in hybrid settings
