Clinical Coder – Band 5 📍 Location: Dorset - Fully remote option
🕒 Hours: 37.5 per week (Full-Time, Permanent)
💷 Salary: NHS Band 5, £22 per hour (Limited company rate) 
Join a Team that Delivers More Than Data — Make a Measurable Difference. We are proud to be recruiting on behalf of Our client for an experienced, Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC) to join their dedicated Clinical Coding team.
As a Band 5 Clinical Coder, you will play a pivotal role in accurately translating complex medical information into coded data using ICD-10 and OPCS-4, supporting critical functions such as funding, reporting, clinical audit, and patient care planning.
🔍 What You’ll Be Doing
  • Extract and analyse detailed clinical information to assign accurate codes using national standards.
  • Maintain exceptional data quality to support national performance metrics, mortality statistics, and clinical decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with consultants, clinical teams, and information governance professionals.
  • Mentor less experienced coders and contribute to a strong team culture through peer reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Support audit, performance reviews, and the implementation of local and national coding updates.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge in clinical coding standards and healthcare advancements.
  • Manage your workload independently while contributing to the overall success of the department.
👤 Who We’re Looking For
  • Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC)essential.
  • Proven experience coding inpatient episodes across multiple specialties.
  • Strong understanding of NHS data standards and the significance of coded clinical data.
  • Comfortable handling complex or sensitive clinical information, including textual and photographic content.
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and present at meetings.
  • Proficiency in hospital admin systems and digital tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
