Oldham Council’s Children’s Social Care Directorate is seeking a Conference and Review Support Officer to coordinate and minute our Child Protection Conferences and Children Looked After Reviews. These are highly important meetings attended by families and multi-agency professionals, requiring sensitivity, accuracy, and strong attention to detail.
What you’ll be doing:
- Organising and preparing for Child Protection Case Conferences and Children Looked After Reviews.
- Sending invitations and distributing key documents to professionals and families.
- Accurately minute-taking during emotionally sensitive meetings, capturing the perspectives of children, family members, and professionals.
- Recording outcomes on the case management system and securely managing confidential information.
- Providing business support in a busy environment with changing priorities.
- Communicating effectively with a variety of audiences.
- Experience in taking accurate minutes, ideally in complex or sensitive meetings.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work at pace under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team within the Safeguarding Unit.
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and the importance of confidentiality.
- Emotional resilience to handle distressing information.
