Conference and Review Support Officer – Oldham

Do you want to support us in helping families keep children safe? Are you looking to make a real difference while using your organisational and administrative skills?

Oldham Council’s Children’s Social Care Directorate is seeking a Conference and Review Support Officer to coordinate and minute our Child Protection Conferences and Children Looked After Reviews. These are highly important meetings attended by families and multi-agency professionals, requiring sensitivity, accuracy, and strong attention to detail.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Organising and preparing for Child Protection Case Conferences and Children Looked After Reviews.

  • Sending invitations and distributing key documents to professionals and families.

  • Accurately minute-taking during emotionally sensitive meetings, capturing the perspectives of children, family members, and professionals.

  • Recording outcomes on the case management system and securely managing confidential information.

  • Providing business support in a busy environment with changing priorities.

  • Communicating effectively with a variety of audiences.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in taking accurate minutes, ideally in complex or sensitive meetings.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work at pace under pressure.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team within the Safeguarding Unit.

  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and the importance of confidentiality.

  • Emotional resilience to handle distressing information.
