Development Surveyor

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Nottinghamshire is currently recruiting for a Development Surveyor to join their Property team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a property and asset management environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to act as a senior member of the professional surveying team, delivering development, disposal, and valuation activities for an allocated portfolio of assets and projects. The role will support the Council’s asset management priorities, driving commercial performance, supporting regeneration ambitions, and delivering professional property advice across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Leading on asset review, development, disposal, and valuation activities for an agreed portfolio of assets and projects.
• Providing professional property advice and expertise to colleagues, members, and stakeholders to support decision-making.
• Managing financial income targets from the allocated portfolio and identifying opportunities for revenue and capital generation.
• Acting as primary contact for agents, developers, tenants, occupiers, and potential purchasers of Council property.
• Supporting and contributing to the Council’s annual asset valuation programme and ad hoc valuations as required.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• MRICS qualification with post-qualification experience at a senior level.
• Proven experience of delivering multi-disciplinary property projects, asset valuations, development, and disposal.
• Strong commercial negotiation skills and ability to manage budgets and financial targets.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Experience of commercial property transactions and regeneration projects.
• Ability to influence, negotiate, and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £50 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £38 per hour PAYE).
