Direct Payments Officer

Job Description

Service Care Solutions are working alongside Conwy County Borough Council for a Direct Payments Officer to join their team on a temprorary basis. Please find a description of the role below.

Role: Direct Payments Officer  
Salary: £13 to £14 per hour (PAYE exc.) / £14-£16 per hour (umbrella)
Location: Conwy.  
Working: On site, 36 hours per week. 
Contract: 3 months on going. 

Responsibilities:
  • Register new service users to the Direct Payments Scheme, ensuring all processes are completed accurately and within agreed timeframes to facilitate timely payments.
  • Ensure clients receive appropriate funding on time to enable them to meet their employer responsibilities, including payroll and staffing obligations.
  • Complete quarterly financial audits of service users' accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies in line with policy and best practice.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of systems, processes, and service delivery models to enhance efficiency and user satisfaction.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with statutory requirements, including Data Protection legislation, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring compliance with audit standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Promote and uphold the organisation’s values, ensuring all actions support the achievement of departmental and corporate objectives.
  • Liaise effectively with internal departments, external agencies, and service users to support a smooth and consistent service experience.
