Domestic Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Domestic Assistant to join an established team in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the Bloomcare Care Centre. This role is crucial in ensuring our residents live in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. You will be part of a supportive team, working together to provide an exceptional living space for our residents.

  • 35 hours per week on a rota basis
  • This role is paying at £14.40 LTD inclusive of holiday pay
  • Initial 6 month contract with possibility of extension after this

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks such as emptying bins, vacuuming, and maintaining cleanliness in dining rooms, lounges, and lavatories.
  • Carry out weekly deep cleaning, including dusting handrails, polishing mirrors, and shampooing carpets as required.
  • Restock toiletries and cleaning supplies when necessary.
  • Participate in staff and client meetings to ensure effective communication.
  • Follow health and safety procedures, including reporting any accidents or hazards to management.
  • Uphold the Care Centre's reputation by ensuring confidentiality and promoting a positive environment.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment is well-maintained and ready for use.
  • Promote safeguarding by recognising potential risks and ensuring residents are supported to exercise their rights safely.


Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Strong team player with good communication skills.
    • Ability to pass a satisfactory Police Check and POVA list check (where applicable).
  • Desired:
    • Previous experience working in a care environment, especially with the elderly.
