EHCP Officer

Herefordshire Council are seeking a passionate and skilled EHCP Officer to join their dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Team on a 3 month contract with the potential of this being extended. In this rewarding role, you will play a vital part in ensuring high-quality services and support are provided to children and young people with SEN within Herefordshire.

Hours: Full time, Mon-Fri, 37 hours per week

Pay: £22.00 Per Hour

Location: Hereford

Duties:

  • Work collaboratively with a supportive team committed to children and young people with SEN.
  • Oversee the co-ordination of the statutory assessment process for a designated caseload, supervised by the SEN Manager.
  • Draft, finalize, and amend EHC Plans according to regulations and deadlines.
  • Attend annual review meetings and prepare information for decision-making panels.
  • Offer expert advice and guidance to parents, children and young people with SEN, schools, and other professionals on the SEND Code of Practice 2014.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare, social care, and education colleagues to ensure effective EHC Plan delivery.

You are the perfect candidate if you have:

  • Significant experience of planning and writing EHCP's (Education Health & Care Plans) for adults, young people or children with a disability
  • Working knowledge of SEN legislation and Disability.
  • Understanding of disabilities, special educational needs and their impact, for individuals, their families and society.
