An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Manager to play a pivotal role in the start-up and ongoing operation of a newly built, state-of-the-art manufacturing warehouse in Barnsley. This is a rare chance to shape the engineering function of a facility from day one, influencing everything from site commissioning to team development and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the commissioning and installation of machinery and production lines.
- Establish and manage a high-performing engineering team to support production.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and best practices.
- Work closely with project stakeholders to ensure the site is delivered on time.
- Lead health & safety initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Drive efficiency, uptime, and continuous improvement across engineering operations.
About You:
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager (or similar leadership role)
- Strong background in project management, ideally with experience of new site launches, machinery installation or production start-ups.
- Exceptional people management skills with the ability to lead and motivate.
- Strong working knowledge of HSE regulations, asset care, and modern maintenance.
