Estates Manager

Job Description

A local authority based in North London is looking for an Estates Manager to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate will have a full relevant Degree level qualification, membership to a relevant chartered body, ideally be a registered Valuer and ideally have extensive experience in a similar local authority position.

The main purpose of the role is to support the Head of Estate and Facilities Management with technical, professional and financial evaluations to achieve the primary roles.
Have senior responsibility for the estate management of the property portfolio including lease management, maintaining commercial income, property valuation, rating and right to buy valuations, delivering high quality services and meeting all relevant national and local targets within the resources allocated.
Oversee the management and updating of the Council's Asset Register on the designated asset management system to ensure that contracts are correctly inputted onto the system to enable the invoicing and payment of rents etc. Circa £2.0 million per annum.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following;


Full Member or Fellowship of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or Ability to nominated as a Registered Valuer
Understanding of relevant Health, Safety & Welfare Legislation and approved Code of Practices and the impact on staff and members of the public.
Understanding of relevant Legislation and Approved Codes of Practice and their impact on staff and members of the public.
Understanding of performance and quality management processes.

The main responsibilities associated with this role are as follows;


Lead and support the operational management of a team of 3 officers whose role it is to maximise the benefit of the corporate estate, identify opportunities and investments for both improvement and growth of the assets under control.
Support the Head of Estate and Facilities Management development of the Council's Asset Management Plan.
Support the Head of Estate and Facilities Management to develop strategies to manage the Council's property assets in line with best practice and strategic property objectives.
Lead in the preparation of capital and revenue estimates for acquisition, disposal and leasing of all types of Council owned and purchased properties.
Support the Head of Estate and Facilities Management with disposals and acquisition in line with the Council' adopted strategies and in accordance with the MTFS.
Undertake valuations of the property assets and any required reports as necessary.

The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such is offering an hourly rate of £25 - £30 p/hr Umbrella Ltd dependant on experience (Approx. £620 - £720 p/week NET after deductions).
