We're Hiring: Family Contact Worker – Manchester City Council

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and families? Join Manchester City Council's Family Contact Service as a Family Contact Worker and play a key role in supporting and safeguarding vulnerable children and their families across the city.

As a Family Contact Worker, you will:

  • Facilitate, supervise, and observe family contact visits in line with agreed care plans.

  • Provide emotional and practical support to children and parents during sessions.

  • Record and report observations clearly and accurately, contributing to ongoing assessments.

  • Help ensure a safe, structured environment that promotes positive relationships.

  • Collaborate with social workers and other professionals to monitor and review action plans.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children and families, and understands child development.

  • Understands child protection procedures and the legal framework around family contact.

  • Has excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Holds a full driving licence and has access to a vehicle.
