About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and committed Family Service Worker to join our team in delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions that support families across the Cheshire East area. This role focuses on early intervention and preventative support for families with children aged 0-19, helping to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with Children's Services and partner agencies to deliver coordinated support programmes.
- Deliver and review evidence-based interventions that meet the unique needs of families at a time and place that works best for them.
- Identify early signs of difficulty and provide timely support to families, ensuring services empower and enable lasting change.
- Carry out holistic family assessments using established tools and deliver individualised plans.
- Maintain clear and accurate records to support monitoring and evaluation of service effectiveness.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities, escalating concerns and seeking guidance where needed.
- Engage with service users to incorporate their views in service planning and delivery.
- A minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent (e.g. BTEC, EYFS practice).
- Experience working with children, young people, and families, including in group settings and one-on-one in the family home.
- Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding practices.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, with access to transport across the borough.
- Qualifications or experience in youth/community work or social care.
- Experience working with families around issues such as domestic violence, mental health, or harmful sexual behaviours.
