Outreach Family Support Worker

Job Description

A team of Outreach Family Support Workers are required to support a pilot project in Liverpool. Liverpool City Council are looking for candidates with NVQ Level 3 in child care and education or Health and Social Care qualifications. The ideal candidate should have experience of direct work with children, young people and their families, experience of effective collaborative and multi-agency working to support children and families, and experience of delivering outreach and home-based support to children and families to address areas of identified need.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outreach and home-based support to children and families to address areas of identified need
  • Communicate effectively, using good written and verbal skills with children, families, other professions and multi-disciplinary organisations in a wide range situation and at different levels
  • Maintain accurate, reflective records in accordance with Recording with Care guidelines
  • Work alone and as part of a team across a range of services including Health, Education, Children's Centres, Schools Family Support Service, etc. to support parents in meeting the needs of their children
  • Collaborate effectively and work in partnership with parents and professionals
  • Deliver practical parenting strategies

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in child care and education or Health and Social Care qualification
  • Experience of direct work with children, young people and their families
  • Experience of effective collaborative and multi-agency working to support children and families
  • Experience of delivering outreach and home-based support to children and families to address areas of identified need
  • Candidates must hold a full UK licence and have access to a car

Salary

Dependent on the experience the Outreach Family Support Worker has, the hourly rate is negotiable.
