📍 Location: Stockton
📄 Contract: 3-month initial term (likely to be extended)
🕒 Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
💰 Pay: Competitive and based on experience

Do you have a passion for supporting children and families to thrive? Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is seeking a committed Family Support Worker to join its Children & Families Team.

🧡 Your Role
As a Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering both practical and emotional support to children and families, including those in foster placements, residential care, or supported accommodation.
You will:
  • Collaborate closely with Social Workers and multi-agency partners to implement meaningful interventions.
  • Represent the service at key forums such as Child Protection Conferences, Reviews, and Court proceedings.
  • Advocate for children by ensuring their voices are central to all decisions and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records using the Liquid Logic case management system.
📌 What We’re Looking For
We’re searching for someone who:
  • Has substantial experience supporting children and families, ideally within statutory or safeguarding services.
  • Holds a relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent).
  • Possesses strong communication, organisational, and report-writing skills.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle.
  • Is adaptable and open to working occasional hours outside the standard working week.
Essential Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • A strong commitment to child safeguarding and promoting well-being
  • Solid understanding of child development, mental health issues, and the legislative framework surrounding children’s social care
