Do you have a passion for supporting children and families to thrive? Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is seeking a committed Family Support Worker to join its Children & Families Team.
🧡 Your Role
As a Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering both practical and emotional support to children and families, including those in foster placements, residential care, or supported accommodation.
You will:
- Collaborate closely with Social Workers and multi-agency partners to implement meaningful interventions.
- Represent the service at key forums such as Child Protection Conferences, Reviews, and Court proceedings.
- Advocate for children by ensuring their voices are central to all decisions and interventions.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records using the Liquid Logic case management system.
We’re searching for someone who:
- Has substantial experience supporting children and families, ideally within statutory or safeguarding services.
- Holds a relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent).
- Possesses strong communication, organisational, and report-writing skills.
- Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle.
- Is adaptable and open to working occasional hours outside the standard working week.
- Enhanced DBS clearance
- A strong commitment to child safeguarding and promoting well-being
- Solid understanding of child development, mental health issues, and the legislative framework surrounding children’s social care
