Fan Zone Officer

Job Description

A Public Sector client based in South London is looking for a Fan Zone Officer to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate will have Sports Events experience, experience delivering fan experience orientated programs of works, knowledge of the events industry and ideally experience in a similar programme delivery role.


The main purpose of the role is to lead on assisting with the planning and delivery of the client's Fan Zone programmes in relation to the Women's UEFA European Football Championship.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following;


Knowledge and experience of the events industry, particularly operational delivery.
An understanding of the challenges of delivering large scale, live events with several stakeholders, partners and agencies.
Experience of coordinating the work of various workstreams/project teams and ensuring an integrated approach to project planning and delivery.
Experience of operating in a politically sensitive environment and handling communications in this environment.
Prioritise work in line with key team or project deliverables
Makes contingency plans to account for changing work priorities, deadlines and milestones

The main responsibilities associated with this role are as follows;


Support the City Experience & Fan Zone Manager to support and contribute to the delivery of the GLA's Fan Zone obligations.
Work across the GLA group, including with London & Partners, the Metropolitan Police Service and Transport for London, to support with development of operational plans for the Fan Zone sites.
Support the City Experience & Fan Zone Manager to administrate the Fan Zone budgets and maintain detailed record keeping, following all required approval processes.
Work with the Marketing, Media & Comms Manager (Major Sports Events) to feed into the marketing and communications plans for both EURO events and ensure a specific plan for Fan Zone sites.
Be a point of contact for the UEFA Fan Zone team, keeping them up to date and liaising with them on relevant areas including planning, food and beverage, screenings, entertainment and site operations.
Liaise with partners and stakeholders, including The FA and UEFA, to keep them updated on the Fan Zone programme and ensure alignment of core stakeholder plans.

The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such is offering an hourly rate of £25 p/hr Umbrella Ltd (Approx. £620 p/week NET after deductions).
