Job Description
 
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Bournemouth for a Finance Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in finance and administration, who is confident working independently and managing competing priorities. You’ll play a key role in supporting the finance function, including handling payments, calculating repayments, and providing essential support to both internal teams and external providers.
 
Main responsibilities
 
  • Support the administering of regular and ad hoc payments through bespoke finance systems.
  • Calculate repayments using financial data provided by providers and Direct Payment applicants, resulting in clear advice and repayment plans where required.
  • Investigate finance queries from internal colleagues and Direct Payment recipients in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Finance Officers and Direct Payments Support Officer, including maintaining databases and spreadsheets.
 
 
Candidate Requirements
 
  • Strong administration and communication skills
  • Proven experience working with internal and external stakeholders/providers
  • Demonstrable experience in finance
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities and meeting conflicting deadlines
