Salary: £28,000 – £32,000
Contract: Full-time (35 hours/week), Temp to Perm
Work from Home: Up to 2 days/week

🔍 About the Role
As a Benefit and Debt Worker, you will play a key role in supporting women survivors of domestic abuse by providing expert advice and assistance around financial hardship, benefits, and debt. You’ll carry out comprehensive needs assessments, deliver advocacy support both face-to-face and remotely, and ensure service users are empowered to make informed decisions.
You’ll manage a caseload and also contribute to the organisation’s duty team on a rota basis, handling intake assessments and crisis support. The role is pan-London, and travel across the 11 boroughs may be required for outreach support.

👩‍💼 Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct benefit, debt and financial hardship assessments with survivors
  • Deliver tailored financial support and advocacy through multiple channels
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to improve outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and secure case records, reports, and logs
  • Proactively safeguard women and any children involved
  • Support data collection and reporting alongside the Data & Insights team
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision to support continuous improvement
  • Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, confidentiality, and health and safety policies
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring compassion, resilience, and a solid grounding in financial advocacy and safeguarding.

Essential Experience & Skills:
  • Experience supporting women who have experienced domestic violence, forced marriage, or honour-based abuse
  • Knowledge of benefits, debt support and financial inclusion services
  • Strong case management skills, including high call and caseload volume
  • Excellent communication, advocacy, and report writing skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding for adults and children
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with competing demands
  • Committed to equity, inclusion, and feminist values
Desirable:
  • Relevant qualification or training in domestic abuse, housing, finance, or social care
  • Experience working across partnerships and multi-agency settings
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and legal remedies
