Rate: £53.15 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Full-time, Interim Assignment
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded local authority for an experienced Head of Housing to lead the strategic development and operational delivery of a key council service. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and drive housing services that make a real difference to the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for the Housing Service Area, ensuring services are efficient, effective, and customer-focused.
- Drive corporate change and contribute to the delivery of the Council’s Corporate Strategy.
- Lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performing, value-for-money services.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory responsibilities within the service area.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice to the Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Team, and Elected Members.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, with substantial experience at a senior leadership level within housing or a related field.
- Proven track record in delivering service improvements and driving strategic change.
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation, particularly consumer standards for social housing.
- Experience of leading multi-disciplined teams and managing complex service areas.
- Member of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIH) with evidence of continuous professional development.
